Introduction

Former Indian batsman VVS Laxman has been appointed as the head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team for the Asian Games 2023. Alongside him, former all-rounder Hrishikesh Kanitkar will coach the women’s team on an interim basis. The Asian Games will take place in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8.

Laxman to Coach Indian Men’s Team

• According to reports, VVS Laxman will be leading the Indian men’s cricket team at the Asian Games 2023.
• Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named as the captain of the men’s team.
• Other coaching staff appointments include Sairaj Bahutule as the bowling coach and Munish Bali as the fielding coach.

Changes in Women’s Coaching Staff

• For the women’s team, the head coach and support staff appointments may be delayed until the start of the new international home season in December.
• Hrishikesh Kanitkar has been appointed as the interim head coach for the women’s team during the Asian Games.
