India Dominates the Asia Cup With Unbeaten Start
India has yet to taste defeat at the Asia Cup and much of their success can be attributed to their dominant top order, led by Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and skipper Rohit Sharma.
Shubman Gill Rises to Career-Best Second Place
Gill’s exceptional performance at the tournament, including two half-centuries and a total of 154 runs, has earned him a career-best second place in the latest rankings.
- Pakistan skipper Babar Azam remains at the top with 863 rating points.
- Gill is now just 103 rating points behind Babar with 759 points.
India’s Trio Inside the Top 10 for the First Time Since 2019
In addition to Gill, both Kohli and Rohit have climbed the rankings:
- Kohli rose two places to eighth.
- Rohit jumped two spots to ninth.
This marks the first time in over four and a half years that India has three players inside the top 10 for ODI batters.
Pakistan’s Players in the Rankings
Pakistan still has three players inside the top 10:
- Imam-ul-Haq drops one place to fifth.
- Fakhar Zaman loses three spots and is now 10th.

Australia’s Josh Hazlewood extends his lead as the top-ranked ODI bowler. Other notable improvements include:
- Keshav Maharaj moves up 10 places to 25th on the ODI bowler rankings (South Africa).
- Tabraiz Shamsi jumps 15 spots to equal 29th on the ODI bowler rankings (South Africa).
