For the openers, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill might be picked in the squad. Both of them have shown marvelous form in IPL 2023 for their respective teams. Key players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli might be rested to manage their workload ahead of ODI World Cup 2023.
Gaikwad was also part of the IND vs SL T20I series earlier this year but did not get a chance to play any match. Gill has been in fantastic form since the start of this year. He has slammed 202 runs in 6 T20I matches with 1 century after making his debut earlier this year.
