The ICC Rates Pitches for West Indies vs India Tests as Average
First Test in Dominica
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has rated the pitches for both West Indies vs India Tests as average. The first game took place in Dominica, where the surface was quite slow. Despite this, West Indies were bundled out for 150 runs in the first innings and were wrapped up for a low total in the second innings, losing the game by an innings margin of 141 runs.
Match referee Jeff Crowe initially gave a below-average rating to the pitch of the first game due to the excessive spin. Cricket West Indies had the option to challenge Jeff Crowe’s rating but it would have created trouble for them. They would have needed to address the ICC regarding the sub-standard pitch conditions.
Second Test in Port of Spain
The second match between West Indies and India, which ended in a draw due to rain, also received an average rating for the pitch. This match concluded the series, which ended in favor of India with a 1-0 series win. Additionally, India won the ODI series but lost the T20I series to West Indies.
