Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, England, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, and the Netherlands are 10 teams in the ICC World Cup 2023. All these teams will face each other once in the league stage as the tournament takes place in a round-robin format.
Pakistan will play a total of 9 matches during ICC World Cup 2023 before the semi-finals. They will play their opening game of the tournament against the Netherlands on October 6. Their last league encounter is against England on November 11.
Pakistan’s Past Performances and Expectations
In the previous edition of the World Cup in 2019, Pakistan failed to reach the semi-final. This time, they will aim for a better show. However, Pakistan reached the final during T20 World Cup last year in Australia.
Since the tournament takes place in India, Pakistan will have favorable conditions which are similar to their home country. However, it is to be noted that Pakistan has not played in India since 2016.
Pakistan’s Previous Success in ODI World Cup
Pakistan won the ODI World Cup title only once in the 1992 edition. In that edition, Pakistan crushed England in the final to lift the trophy.
