Asian Games 2023: Indian Women’s Cricket Team Announced

India to Participate in Asian Games Cricket
India is set to send both their men’s and women’s cricket teams to compete in the Asian Games cricket tournament for the first time. The event, which will feature the women’s cricket competition played in the T20 format, is scheduled to take place from September 19-28 at the Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field.
Cricket at the Asian Games
Cricket has previously been played at the Asian Games in 2010 and 2014. In both editions, the women’s event was won by Pakistan, who defeated Bangladesh in the final. The upcoming edition of the Asian Games will see the matches given international status by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Indian Women’s Cricket Team at Multi-Sport Event
The Asian Games 2023 mark the second time that the Indian women’s cricket team will participate in a multi-sport event. At the Commonwealth Games 2022 held in Birmingham, the Indian women’s team secured a silver medal after facing Australia in the final.
