Karan Johar Recalls Shah Rukh Khan’s Support During Threats: A Heartwarming Friendship

Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan have been best friends for several years now. So much so, that they practically consider each other family today.

SRK’s Protection During Threats

In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Karan recently recalled how SRK came forward to protect him after he received death threats during the release of ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. Karan shared his heartfelt aspiration of hosting the premiere of his film at Mumbai’s iconic Liberty Theatre and having the privilege of witnessing the legendary Shammi Kapoor grace the event.

A Nerve-wracking Experience

However, his dream turned into a nerve-wracking experience when security concerns compelled him to remain confined to a small room instead of the red carpet.

Seclusion and Tension

Reflecting on that unsettling moment, he recounted how he found himself secluded due to the presence of security personnel. The threat of harm looming in the background added an extra layer of tension to the situation.

Perseverance and Success

Despite these challenges, Karan Johar persevered, and with the authorities’ support, he ultimately succeeded in releasing his film as planned.

SRK’s Role in Fulfilling Karan’s Dream

Karan recounted that Shah Rukh Khan was aware of his cherished dream. When Shammi Kapoor emerged from his car, Shah Rukh promptly went inside, fetched KJo, and positioned him directly in front of the veteran star. Shah Rukh assured him, saying, “No one will harm you. Observe this moment.” Karan watched as his dream unfolded, tears welling up in his eyes because it was his dream coming true.

Enduring Support

Shah Rukh Khan then insisted, “You’re not leaving this spot.” Despite his mother and father becoming anxious and concerned, they eventually guided him back. However, Karan would always remember how Shah Rukh Khan had brought him out and declared, “I’ll take a bullet for you, you just stand here.” It was at that moment that Karan realized the depth of their enduring relationship.

On the Work Front

On the work front, Karan’s last project was ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’. Meanwhile, SRK is basking in the super success of his latest release, ‘Jawan’.
