Gadar 2 Box Office Collection Day 31: Sunny Deol’s Film Sees a Slight Growth Amid Jawan’s Domination

Introduction

It’s been exactly a month since Sunny Deol came back with a bang with Gadar 2. The Anil Sharma war drama created quite a rage at the box office, breaking many records. However, ever since Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan hit cinema halls on September 7, the footfall has seen a gradual fall for Gadar 2. On Sunday, the film earned approx. Rs 1.60 crore, reported industry tracker Sacnilk. It’s an increase from previous days numbers of Rs 90 lakh (Friday) and Rs 1.35 crore (Saturday). With this, the film has netted Rs 513.85 crore in 31 days.

Box Office Collections

• The sequel of 2001 blockbuster, Gadar 2 opened with a massive Rs 40 crore.
• On week 1, the film collected Rs 284.63 crore.
• The numbers for the following week were Rs 134.47 crore, Rs 63.35 crore, and Rs 27.55 crore, respectively.

Occupancy in the Market

Gadar 2 saw a 60.17 per cent occupancy in the Hindi-speaking market, which is quite a positive sign for the team. While evening shows remained most crowded with 77.85 per cent, afternoon shows also saw 70.08 per cent occupancy.

Jawan Dominance

Following the release of Jawan, Gadar 2 dropped from the second position to the third spot in the list of the highest Hindi openers of 2023. Jawan now leads the pack with Rs 75 crore, followed by Pathaan at Rs 57 crore, and Gadar 2. However, the film has outperformed Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in terms of lifetime collections in the Hindi belt, although it is still chasing Pathaan’s all-time record of Rs 543 crore. SRK’s Jawan, on the other hand, has already crossed Rs 287.06 crore in just four days.

Cast and Crew

Gadar 2 brings back the jodi of Tara Singh and Sakina. The film also starred Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Simratt Kaur, Manish Wadhwa and Gaurav Chopra in pivotal roles.
