Farah Khan recalls Aamir Khan’s ‘funniest’ excuse for ditching Om Shanti Om’s Deewangi song

Farah Khan, the director of Om Shanti Om, revealed how Aamir Khan tricked her into believing his reason for not appearing in the film’s iconic song “Deewangi”. Aamir Khan was last seen in the film “Laal Singh Chaddha”.

Om Shanti Om, directed by Farah Khan, was a huge success, and the star-studded song Deewangi was one of the most memorable parts of the film. In the song, 31 movie stars made special appearances, making it a truly unforgettable moment on the big screen.

Aamir Khan’s Reason for Not Doing the Song

Farah recently revealed that she wanted Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan to be a part of the song too but this couldn’t happen. On Maniesh Paul’s podcast, Farah opened up about the reason why Aamir decided to skip the song. Farah said, “We called a lot of stars who eventually did not come. Amit ji could not come. Abhishek and Aishwarya were getting married that week, so he couldn’t come. Aamir’s was the funniest, he kept me hanging and in the end, he gave me the reason that he was editing Taare Zameen Par. I said, ‘Just come, I will get it done in two hours.”

Aamir’s Funny Excuse

Farah continued, “Then he called me and said, ‘Farah I am editing, if I leave the editing for two hours and come for the shoot, my film will be delayed for six months.’ Then I said, ‘You please don’t come.’ Later when I asked him about this reason, he said, ‘I did not want to come.’”

Farah had earlier revealed that Shah Rukh had also promised to get Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu on board. She told PTI, “The whole industry featured in the title song of the film. Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan wanted to see Dharmendraji dance. We captured that impromptu moment when all of them were dancing.”
