Director Atlee Reveals ‘Jawan’ Was ‘Only Made For Shah Rukh Khan Sir’
Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is making all the right noises. The film also marked the Hindi debut of director Atlee, who is surely flying high on the success of Jawan. After witnessing a blockbuster run at the box office, SRK’s Jawan is eyeing to enter the 500 crore club.
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, director Atlee revealed his unwavering decision on casting Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. According to Atlee, Jawan was solely made for Khan sir, leaving no room for second thoughts. He stated, “I didn’t have a second thought about who is going to do it.”
Collaboration with Vijay
Atlee, known for his successful collaborations with Thalapathy Vijay in films like Theri, Mershel, and Bigil, also shared his working dynamics with the Tamil superstar. During the making of Jawan, Atlee mentioned that Vijay sir was the only person he interacted with, describing their relationship as akin to being brothers. They shared insights about their respective projects and supported each other in their creative endeavors.
Possibility of a Sequel
Atlee hinted at the possibility of a sequel to Jawan. He mentioned that the film’s climax has been deliberately kept open-ended, intending to explore a potential continuation in the future. He expressed, “For Jawan, if anything strong comes to me, I will make a part two. I have kept an open end and I can come up with a sequel now or later.”
Box Office Success
Entering its second week, Jawan continues to break records at the box office. Within ten days of its release, the film has amassed a staggering business of Rs 440.48 crore, as reported by Sacnilk.
In addition to Shah Rukh Khan, Jawan features acclaimed actors Nayanthara, Deepika Padukone, and Vijay Sethupathi. The film hit theaters on September 7.
