Tamil music composer and actor Vijay Antony’s 16-year-old daughter Meera reportedly died by suicide in the wee hours of September 19. According to reports in a news portal, she was taken to a hospital after she was found hanging at her Chennai residence when doctors examined her and declared her dead.

Reports suggest that Meera was battling depression and was receiving treatment for the same.

The tragic incident has sent shockwaves in the south film industry and many celebrities have taken to social media to mourn the death of Meera.

Meanwhile, an old post of Vijay Antony’s wife Fatima about their daughter’s achievement at school has resurfaced on social media amid her death news. In March, Fatima took to X (previously known as Twitter) to share a picture of Meera sporting her school uniform and a sash, and wrote ‘The Force behind my strength, the consolation to my tears, the reason for my stress (Naughtiness super loaded) my Thangakatti-chellakutty. Meera Vijay Antony, Congrats Baby’.
