Ridhi Dogra, who plays the adoptive mother of Shah Rukh Khan’s character in the Atlee-directed film Jawan, has often spoken about her wonderful experience working on the project. Jawan also features Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone in a special cameo appearance. In a recent conversation with Zoom, Ridhi shared a heartwarming anecdote from the set that showcased Deepika’s kindness and generosity.

Deepika’s Gesture

During their conversation, Ridhi revealed that on the day Deepika was shooting for Jawan, she arrived on set with her entire team and they gathered behind the monitor. As the shooting progressed and the atmosphere became more relaxed, personal banter ensued. To respect Deepika’s privacy, Ridhi initially chose to sit behind her. However, Deepika quietly moved her chair to sit alongside Ridhi. Deepika’s gesture won Ridhi’s heart, and she said that she was, “Deeply touched by her solidarity and gratitude that we are actors together.”

Ridhi’s Hesitation

In Jawan, Ridhi Dogra portrayed the character of Kaveri, a jailer and the adoptive mother of SRK’s character Azaad. In a previous interview with India Today, she admitted that she initially hesitated to accept the role of SRK’s mother. She said, “I’ll be honest, I was very nervous about taking this up, but I didn’t know any better. I didn’t understand if I should do it, or I should not do it. The only thing I saw in it was that it was challenging for me. That’s the only thing that pushed me to do it.”

Jawan’s Box Office Success

Jawan, which premiered on September 7, achieved a remarkable feat by crossing the Rs 300 crore mark in just five days of its release. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film’s earnings continued to soar, with an impressive Rs 30 crore collected on Monday, bringing its total domestic earnings to a remarkable Rs 316.16 crore. Jawan will cross the Rs 600 crore worldwide gross mark today.
