Canadian Singer Shubh Faces Backlash Ahead of India Tour
Accusations of Supporting Separatist Khalistani Elements
Canada-based singer Shubhneet Singh, also known as Shubh, is set to tour multiple cities in India in the upcoming days. However, he is facing significant backlash ahead of his visit. Several members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BYJM) have accused the singer of supporting separatist Khalistani elements.
Controversial Instagram Story Goes Viral
One of the main reasons behind the backlash is Shubh’s Instagram Story during the Punjab police’s hunt for fugitive Amritpal Singh. In the Story, he shared a distorted map of India that excluded Punjab and Jammu-Kashmir. This post has gone viral on the internet, fueling the accusations against him.
Virat Kohli Un-Follows Shubh on Social Media
Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, who was previously seen enjoying Shubh’s songs, has reportedly un-followed the singer on social media. This adds to the controversy surrounding Shubh and his alleged support for Khalistani elements.
Demand for Cancellation of Shows in India
The President of BJYM Mumbai has demanded the cancellation of Shubh’s shows in India. He stated, “There is no space for Khalistanis who are the enemy of the integrity and unity of India. We won’t allow Canadian singer Shubh to perform in the auspicious land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mumbai. If no proper action is taken, then the organizers will have to face our opposition.”
Accusations of Khalistani Propaganda
Amidst the controversy, a netizen shared pictures of Shubh along with his posts of the distorted India map and Chandrayaan-3 success. The netizen accused Shubh of being a Khalistani Canadian rapper and singer who aims to use the money earned from Indian audiences on his concert tour to fund Khalistani propaganda against India.
These accusations have further fueled the calls for boycotting Shubh’s shows in the country.
