Anurag Kashyap’s daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap, recently opened up about her weight gain and insecurities as she chatted with her fiance, Shane, on the latest episode of their podcast.

She said, ‘I am quite insecure about my weight and body. It is crazy how detrimental this insecurity can be to mental health.’

She added, ‘I was always really skinny and wanted to put on weight. No matter how much I ate, I couldn’t gain weight as it was genetic.’

Reactions to Weight Gain

While speaking about people’s reactions to her weight gain, Aaliyah shared, ‘Two years ago, when I started taking antidepressants, I started putting on so much weight. Initially, I was really happy but then it kept going. I started having a really unhealthy relationship with food and people began commenting about my weight, which affected my mental health. I was so upset about it and whenever there was a comment, I felt worse.’

She also revealed how a ‘massage lady’ once called her fat. Aaliyah shared that the lady, who saw her a couple of weeks ago, told her ‘Oh my God, you have become fat since that last time I saw you!’, which left her in tears. ‘I was crying while getting the massage’, said Aaliyah.
