Delays in Terminal Transition Cause Postponement
BENGALURU: The international flight operations from Terminal 2 of the Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) from Thursday morning have been postponed due to lack of full preparedness of the new airport.
27 International Carriers Affected
A total of 27 international carriers were all set to be shifted from KIA’s Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 on Thursday. However, in an unexpected move, the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), operators of KIA decided to postpone the commencement of the operations from T2.
New Date Yet to be Announced
A BIAL spokesperson said, “the proposed shifting of international operations to Terminal 2 at Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru on August 31, 2023, stands postponed.”
Consultation with Regulatory Authorities
The spokesperson added that after consulting all regulatory authorities, BIAL will release a date for transition of international operations on Thursday.
Operations to Continue from Terminal 1
International operations will continue to operate from Terminal 1 until further notice.
